THE REQUIREMENTS






* Direct incoming calls. Determine nature of caller's business and refer to appropriate department or individual. 

* Greet customers, clients, and visitors and notify appropriate person. 

* Perform general clerical work including basic typing, light computer work, alphabetizing, filing, and mail preparation. 

* May train switchboard personnel. 

* Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Experience: Entry-level position. Prior switchboard experience helpful.

Knowledge: Knowledge of PBX switchboard preferred. Ability to receive customers, clients, and visitors with courtesy, tolerance, and efficiency at all times. Ability to handle multiple activities at the same time. Works under direct supervision.

8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; Some overtime required

THE REQUIREMENTS





* Perform order entry of job lot purchase orders and provide order acknowledgements to customers. 

* Coordinate fixture package and gear releases. 

* Provide various reports to customers from Project Manager software throughout the project period. 

* Update shipping schedules to customers; expedite orders, drawings, and follow-ups. 

* Address change orders with suppliers and customers, process supplier debit memos, and clear customer invoice deductions as they relate to job lots. 

* Perform Returned Goods process for project orders; file and complete freight claims in a timely manner. 

* Apply job lot billing to current projects, both lighting and gear; monitor job folders for successful completion and close out. 

* Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: College degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Two or more years of progressive customer service or related experience preferred.

Knowledge: Broad knowledge of product lines and services with the ability to make presentations to customers. Ability to use Graybar Project Manager software at a proficient level preferred. Ability to handle a variety of customer situations with enthusiasm and tact. Demonstrable skill at handling and resolving customer complaints. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with all levels of employees and management, both internally and externally.

The Responsibilities

 


* 

Sell Industrial Control &amp; Automation/Electrical products and services by establishing contacts and developing relationships at all levels that have an influence on the decision making process


* 

Key Account focus will be MRO, OEM, System Integrators &amp; Panel Builders, while establishing relationships within the Specification and Engineering Community


* 

Work closely with Graybar's strategic supplier partners to provide value added solutions and services to expand our existing business and to target new accounts within the Industrial Vertical Market


* 

Provide technical solutions that help meet our customers needs and expectations, making them more competitive, productive and profitable


* 

Identify and communicate product improvements and new product applications by remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competition


* 

Take a pro-active role in reviewing and establishing local inventory levels to support our Industrial Control &amp; Automation customer base


* 

Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested


* 

Communicate effectively with Inside Sales personnel with regard to quotes and new and existing opportunities


* 

Work effectively with Graybar's Management, at all levels, to provide timely response to Corporate, District and Branch level mandates

THE REQUIREMENTS





* Aggressively promote lighting product sales within assigned territory by supporting promotions and sales leads generation programs. 

* Responsible for driving top line lighting sales and managing lighting sales leads for assigned locations. 

* Serve as the go-to person and work together with the field sales organization in identifying and closing lighting projects. 

* Spend at least 60% of your time in front of customers delivering lighting solutions. 

* Develop key partnerships with specific Contractors, Agents and other customers as appropriate. 

* Identify the business opportunities that lighting represents to our customers and to our field sales organization. 

* Communicate lighting best practices and serve as mentor to others to sell more lighting products.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Three or more years' sales experience, preferably in the lighting industry.

Knowledge: Have the ability and confidence to do in-depth lighting layouts from the outset of the project. Clearly articulate (via customer presentations) the benefits of the proposed lighting solution. Experience in utilizing various lighting software packages preferred. Ability to work closely with local lighting agents. Demonstrate the ability to work as the leader within a team to achieve success. Prefer an experienced sales professional who has worked for a lighting manufacturer or agent.

* Designs and implements programs to maximize return on sales. 

* Initiates new and improves existing programs that support the branch in meeting and exceeding financial performance metrics. 

* Engages with customers to monitor customer service levels and takes action when necessary to implement changes that improve service. 

* Oversees the preparation of branch budgets and monitors actual performance against budget to ensure that the branch achieves its sales, gross margin, net profit, and asset management objectives.

* Monitors activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures. 

* Develops and maintains business relationships with current and potential customers and suppliers.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience: Typically, this is a senior-level management position for an individual with substantial business experience in sales, operations, finance or management. Branch assignments tend to be large in terms of sales volume, although assignment may occur at branches with smaller sales volume that are underperforming or have high growth potential.

Knowledge: Knowledge of supply chain management principles; various electric utilitysuppliers and their respective product lines; Sales, Operations, Financial, HR processes; SAP applications and reports. Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills, strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively supervise staff and achieve results through others. Extensive knowledge of the electric utility distribution industry and competitors in assigned territories.
