THE REQUIREMENTS





* Creates and maintains chargeback agreements (sales deals) accurately and timely. 

* Monitors and resolves EDI and non-EDI supplier rebate charge backs through the reconciliation process within established time requirements. 

* Communicates with the District Pricing Coordinator to coordinate rebate and pricing strategies. 

* Provides assistance to Graybar Sales Representatives, District and/or Branch management to identify and resolve rebate issues. Prepares monthly summaries of unsettles rebate claims as required by Director, Operations. 

* Conducts training on rebate procedures, methods, and strategies for all personnel involved in the rebate process. 

* Working knowledge of ZGMR and ZCP t-codes for the purpose of reviewing profitability. 

* Communicates with Price/Cost services regarding material master data and cost issues having an effect on cost recovery. 

* Establishes and maintains relationships with key supplier partners. 

* Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: Level I: One year of Graybar experience or equivalent work experience preferred, preferably in administration, accounting or a customer service related area. Should achieve full knowledge of sales deal creation, the rebate process and beginning comprehension of the reconciliation process.

Level II: Minimum of 2-3 years of sales deal/reconciliation experience or equivalent. Should have complete knowledge of both sales deal creation and the reconciliation process.

Level III: Minimum of 2-3- years of sales deal/reconciliation experience or equivalent. Ability to handle all aspects of sales deal issues independently and proactively assists in maximizing rebate profitability for the District.

Knowledge: Strong mathematical skills required. Proficiency using Excel, Access, and Word programs is required. Familiarity with Graybar procedures and terms preferred. Intermediate knowledge of SAP preferred. Knowledge of Graybar customer markets and branch stock products preferred. Knowledge of Company initiatives regarding sales and margin improvement preferred

THE REQUIREMENTS





* Progressively manage and maintain contacts with established customers and source new business through prospecting new customers via telephone or other electronic device(s) for the purpose of selling Graybar products.

* Promote and sell Graybar products in compliance with all company pricing policies and instructions, to achieve maximum gross margin rate.

* Handle customer complaints promptly, effectively and report potential claims. 

* Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.

* Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed and recommend new items for stock.

* Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested. 

* Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



Education: Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience: Two to four years' industry-specific experience preferred.

Knowledge: Broad knowledge of product line and pricing. Proven ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals. Negotiation skills along with ability to sell and be persuasive. Broad knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing. Professional appearance and demeanor.

THE REQUIREMENTS



* Manage and direct the activities of the Sales Team, including Quotations, to achieve sales, net profit, gross margin, operating ratio, and service objectives.

* Develop strong business relationships with executive level management of our top customers.

* Support Company policy for maintaining inventory to meet customer needs.

* Promote the sale of obsolete and over-stocked material.

* Support Company customer credit, collections and security policies.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Education:    College degree preferred.



Experience: Equivalent successful sales experience required; prior supervisory experience desired.



Knowledge:  Must be able to effectively apply leadership and sales/customer skills to drive sales and lead personnel to meet or exceed sales objectives, and have a proven ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.  Strong sales background; exceptional customer relations, negotiations, communications, analytical, and organizational skills; a high attention to detail; sound judgment and reasoning skills; and be able to work effectively with all levels of customers, vendors, employees, and management.  Must have a broad knowledge of electrical products; the ability to handle/resolve customer issues and mediate disputes; and the ability to effectively train others.   In addition, one must be resourceful; people, sales, service, and results oriented; and technologically adept.  A working knowledge of SAP is a plus.

THE REQUIREMENTS





* Safely drives truck or van to transport materials within specified area.

* Records each delivery on the manifest SF99 before leaving the warehouse. 

* Verifies load against shipping papers. Obtains signed receipts for delivered material.

* Decides best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers' expectations of a timely delivery. 

* Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. 

* Inspects truck equipment and supplies as required and immediately reports any deficiencies to ensure safe operation.

* May perform Material Handler responsibilities when not engaged in primary responsibilities. 

* Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.

* Records delivery information through Xora software application.

* Complies with Graybar's safe loading and unloading procedures.

* Complies with Graybar's hazardous material procedures.

* May promote new sales. Meets customer and Graybar standards while conducting all duties in a safe, courteous and professional manner. Promotes and maintains good customer relations.

* Takes an active role in communicating customer feedback to Graybar management, including customer complaints, requests, returns, performance, competitive information and potential opportunities.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification must be on person at all times when on Company business. If operating a forklift and/or boom, the operator must be OSHA qualified.

Experience: All Deliver Drivers must be 21 years old and have a safe driving history.

Level I:Typically drives a van or truck weighing equal to or below 26,000 Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Experience in material handling and driving a company vehicle. Possesses a valid operator driver's license. Must successfully complete DOT physical.

Level II:Typically drives a truck weighing equal to or below 33,000 GVW. Experience in material handling and driving a company vehicle. Possess a valid commercial's driver's license Class A or B. Must successfully complete DOT physical. Must submit to random drug and alcohol testing. Has a basic understanding of products and services offered at local office.

Level III:Typically drives and operates straight trucks and tractor-trailers over 33,000 GVW or trucks equipped with a boom or forklift with self-unloading capabilities. Experience in material handing. One to two years' of experience driving vehicles over 26,000 GVW. Possess a valid commercial's driver's license Class A or B. Must successfully complete DOT physical. Must submit to random drug and alcohol testing. May perform emergency repairs. Familiarity with products and services offered by Graybar above the level expected of the Delivery Driver II position to the extent he/she is able to assist customers with product inquires and/or direct them to an internal source.

Knowledge: Knowledge of DOT regulations. Knowledge of safe and proper loading procedures. Knowledge of city traffic and locations to help determine most efficient routes. Knowledge of the procedures for securing the type of cargo in the motor vehicle he/she drives.

skills: Basic reading and math skills, including the use of charts and schedules. Good customer service skills. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Abilities: Moderate mechanical aptitude. Ability to drive in adverse weather or road conditions. Ability to lift 70 pounds routinely. Must be able to walk, drive and move freely. Must have corrected hearing and eyesight. Ability to communicate effectively with the general public and customers, to include offering information, answering questions and taking orders. Ability to, by way of training, experience or both, safely operate the type of motor vehicle he/she will be required to drive and has demonstrated the ability to safely operate the required vehicles by successfully completing Graybar's road test requirements.

THE REQUIREMENTS





* Primary responsibility of a Management Trainee is to acquire the necessary operating and/or sales experience for future integration into the business. 

* As a Graybar Management Trainee, the employee can expect to work in various departments throughout the Graybar branch. This exposure is designed to provide a vivid understanding and perspective of the various career opportunities at Graybar through the exposure of the business and products from the "ground floor" and up.

* The Management Trainee may spend a specified period of time in a various department and progress similarly to other departments. Likewise, the Management Trainee may be utilized in multiple departments at the same time.

* Responsibilities of a Management Trainee will consist of (but not limited to):

* Warehousing and Logistics: This entails working as a material handler (receiving, selecting and packing material).

* Counter Sales: This entails customer service to our over-the-counter customers.

* Customer Service Representative: This position entails receiving and placing customer orders, working collaboratively with the sales staff and interaction with Graybar suppliers.

* The timeframe of the aforementioned is dependent on several factors including the employee's learning aptitude and future branch vacancies. Generally, a Management Trainee's career path is determined within one to three years.

 

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Associates degree strongly preferred.

Experience: Prior customer service or sales experience is preferred.

Knowledge: Strong business acumen. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required. Computer knowledge preferred. Must be able to regularly lift up to 70 pounds.

* Oversees the preparation of branch budgets and monitors actual performance against budget to ensure that the branch achieves its sales, gross margin, net profit, and asset management objectives. 

* Takes an active role in all aspects of workforce management, including hiring, training, mentoring, rewarding, disciplining, and succession planning. 

* Monitors activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures. 

* Develops and maintains business relationships with current and potential customers and suppliers.

* Monitors competitive conditions in the territory and recommends and implements changes as necessary.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience: Typically, this is a senior-level management position for an individual with substantial business experience in sales, operations, finance or management. Branch assignments tend to be large in terms of sales volume, although assignment may occur at branches with smaller sales volume that are underperforming or have high growth potential.

Knowledge: Knowledge of supply chain management principles; various electric utilitysuppliers and their respective product lines; Sales, Operations, Financial, HR processes; SAP applications and reports. Must possess excellent oral/written communication skills, strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively supervise staff and achieve results through others. Extensive knowledge of the electric utility distribution industry and competitors in assigned territories.

THE REQUIREMENTS





* Achieve net profit and service goals of assigned branches. 

* Achieve net profit, sales, gross margins, operating ratio and service objectives for assigned accounts, markets and territories. 

* Develop and maintain business relationships with customers and prospective customers in the territory. 

* Direct and provide quality sales support to customers by meeting customer service expectations. 

* Keep the Director Electrical Sales, the Director CommData Sales and District Vice President informed of the competitive conditions in the territory. 

* Recommend Sales Representatives' annual sales, gross profit, and expense budgets, and supervise the sales organization to attain or exceed budgets. 

* Communicate, maintain, and recommend CPAs within Company guidelines. 

* Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

Education: College degree or equivalent Sales or Operations experience.

Experience: Five or more years' progressively responsible sales or operating experience. Previous Account Representative experience preferred.

Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of sales processes for the various markets served. Thorough knowledge of how to achieve through others the financial goals of the Branch. Thorough knowledge of Graybar Sales, Operations, and Financial processes. Ability to maintain and develop relationships with customers to achieve branch short and long term goals. Thorough knowledge of Graybar products. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to all levels of customers, suppliers and Graybar personnel. Good negotiation skills. Ability to regularly apply the principles of supply chain management. Working knowledge of Graybar computer systems. Good organizational skills.
