THE REQUIREMENTS





* Develop, coordinate and execute strategies to capture local and national customer specifications and project registrations, working with other districts/branches, sales personnel and Corporate Accounts, as appropriate, to integrate both corporate and field strategies into the overall market approach utilized in the area.

* Work directly with end-users, consultants, engineering companies and architects in providing a high-level of expertise in assisting with the specification of products and solutions to meet customer needs and improve the position of the Company to capture business at an enhanced margin rate.

* Leverage the specialized knowledge gained during the process of specifying and managing a specific project to negotiate and capture future work via Blanket Purchasing Agreements or other types of similar agreements.

* Participate in appropriate professional organizations to enhance lead generation potential and overall reputation and arrange and conduct presentations on products and services to potential accounts.

* Recommend changes to internal and external processes to reduce costs and/or to improve service and present customer needs and concerns to appropriate field and corporate management.

* Attain, or assist location(s) to exceed sales and profit budgets.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience:  Level I: Two or more years of responsible sales, marketing, and/or operating experience. Demonstrated history of success in achieving sales objectives. Intermediate knowledge of Graybar's sales, marketing and operating processes. Intermediate knowledge of Graybar's products and services.

Level II:Four or more years of progressively responsible sales, marketing, and/or operating experience. Demonstrated history of success in achieving sales objectives. Proficient knowledge of Graybar's sales, marketing, and operating processes. Proficient knowledge of Graybar's products and services.

Level III:Six or more year's responsible sales, marketing, and/or operating experience. Demonstrated history of success in achieving sales objectives. Superior knowledge of Graybar's sales, marketing and operating processes. Superior knowledge of Graybar's products and services. 

Level IV:  Typically, eight or more years responsible sales, marketing, and/or operating experience. Demonstrated history of success in achieving sales objectives. Typically, six or more years of experience in increasingly responsible sales or sales related positions. Superior knowledge of Graybar's sales, marketing, and operating processes. Superior knowledge of Graybar's products and services. Fully capable of constructing a customer needs analysis in order to develop and deliver a professional presentation at any level within the customer's organization, including senior management. Capable of reviewing and assessing RFX documentation, recommending a course of action to district management, and composing professional proposal documents. Experience in contract review, assessment, and negotiation from both a basic legal and a thorough business perspective.

Knowledge:  Must be technically competent with continuing emphasis on industry trends and product applications. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Some travel with overnight stays required.



NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE



8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; Some overtime required

(Note: The normal work schedule may vary depending on location.)

The Requirements 


·        Excellent communication and presentation skills

·        Effective negotiation skills with the ability to overcome adversity


·        Work ethics, attitude and personality that portray integrity, self-motivation, competitiveness, and persistence

·        Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task to grow profitable business while exceeding customer expectations

·        Proven track record of building a funnel of opportunities through cold calling, networking, and prospecting is preferred

·        Product knowledge consisting of Industrial Control &amp; Automation is preferred

The Responsibilities 

·        Sell Industrial Control &amp; Automation/Electrical products and services by establishing contacts and developing relationships at all levels that have an influence on the decision making process

 ·        Key Account focus will be MRO, OEM, System Integrators &amp; Panel Builders, while establishing relationships within the Specification and Engineering Community

·        Work closely with Graybar's strategic supplier partners to provide value added solutions and services to expand our existing business and to target new accounts within the Industrial Vertical Market

·        Provide technical solutions that help meet our customers? needs and expectations, making them more competitive, productive and profitable

·        Identify and communicate product improvements and new product applications by remaining current on industry trends, market activities and competition

·        Take a pro-active role in reviewing and establishing local inventory levels to support our Industrial Control &amp; Automation customer base

·        Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested

·        Communicate effectively with Inside Sales personnel with regard to quotes and new and existing opportunities

·        Work effectively with Graybar's Management, at all levels, to provide timely response to Corporate, District and Branch level mandates

·        Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Work Experience

 Bachelor?s Degree and/or equivalent sales experience preferred
